Connect Your Computer to a TV

As everybody know, you can connect a computer to your TV. You can use TV as PC monitor to view presentations, games, pictures and movies or browse the Web. This opportunity allow notebook and computer users to easily connect and use a large-format monitor.

However, do you know how to connect your PC or computer to a TV? Here’s a quick walk-through of all the methods that I know to connect a computer to your TV:

i) S-Video – This is probably the most common method because an S-Video cable is very cheap and just about every TV has a S-Video port already. However, you’ll have to make sure you notebook is equipped with this port also. Current market has two types of S-Video cables: 4-pin and 7-pin. Most laptops and computers are come with a 7-pin port. Therefore if your TV only has a 4-pin S-Video port then it will not work. NTSC or PAL support this S-video input.

ii) VGA – If you have a HDTV, then better you connect it using a VGA cable. This is because the quality is much more better than S-Video.
